Food collection and textile recycling event April 30

April 30, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

The Arlington Democratic Town Committee is hosting a community service event: a food drive to benefit Arlington EATS and a textile recycling collection.

Plan on meeting with your friends and fellow activists on Saturday, April 30, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Spy Pond parking lot, at the end of Pond Lane.

Arlington EATS: While our fall food drive was very successful, food insecurity is on the rise, and this is a good time for another collection. Suggested needed items: Cereal (especially Cheerios!), shelf stable soup, snacks (regular sizes, please), dish soap and laundry detergent, personal care items such as shampoo, soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, incontinence products and diapers (large sizes are more in demand). Please do not donate soda, sports drinks, medications, jumbo or single serving sizes. Check the expiration dates.

For more information, visit https://www.arlingtoneats.org.

Textile Recycling: We’re collecting used clothing, footwear and household textiles (even stained and torn items). This is a win-win for Arlington—there are many environmental and economic benefits.

Community service credits are available for Arlington High School volunteers.
