Stand Up for Science – 2025 – Boston, MA

Stand Up for Science with us at noon on March 7th, 2025, Massachusetts State House

Our program will begin with speeches from local academics, students, and activists about the importance of pro-science policies and federal funding to their work. Talks will run from shortly after 12:00 until approximately 2:00. From there, the second half of the event will shift into an opportunity to continue holding vigil with our signs, networking with each other and state officials, and taking individual actions to stand up for science.

Important safety information: Please do not fully block the sidewalk, stand in the street, or bring signs attached to sticks!

Saving Our Union

Rally at 4-5:30 PM

On the afternoon of March 4th, prior to President Trump’s address to a joint session of Congress, 50501 Massachusetts will hold a rally at the Boston Common to speak the truth about the state of our Union today and the need for nonviolent resistance to protect our democracy.

We will have speakers starting at 4:30 PM and invite all allied organizations to join us in assembling peacefully to make our voices heard.

Similar events organized by 50501 will happen in many cities across the country so you may have other options.

State House Steps

To tell elected officials that you:

  • OPPOSE closing Pappas Rehabilitation Hospital for Children
  • OPPOSE closing Pocasset Mental Health Center
  • OPPOSE reducing DMH Case Managers by 50%
  • OPPOSE raising healthcare costs for state workers and retirees

Following the rally, we will head into the State House to meet with legislators.
